A Heart of Wisdom

“Lead me in the right path, O Lord, or my enemies will conquer me. Make your way plain for me to follow.” Psalms 5:8 

Desire isn’t enough to generate results. We all desire better for ourselves, but we don’t always get to see what we want happen. This could be for several reasons, but if we’re to dig deep we will find that one of the key reasons for not moving forward is lack of clarity. It’s one thing to know something has to be done, it’s another to know the specific steps to take to do it.

Because God doesn’t want us walking in darkness or living life by trial and error, He has given us access to what we need to make progress according to His plan. This series we’re looking at clarity: the critical questions we need to ask so we know what to do, what start or stop doing and how to do it so we consistently advance in all areas. “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1:8

Jesus gave a clear assurance that all who believe in Him will receive power through the Holy Spirit, and this power will give all believers the ability to walk in the supernatural. This is power is not meant to be a once in a while occurrence but part of our daily existence. We are supposed to be carriers and dispensers of power wherever we find ourselves. 

We know Jesus did His part by making the Holy Spirit available when we accepted Him as Lord and Saviour, so if we’re not seeing a demonstration of power in our lives we must probe deeper.

One of the things we’re praying for this year is divine alignment, expansion of our territories and influence because the expansion of the children of God is the expansion of the kingdom of God. As we get ready to walk in the realities of the days to come, we’re reminded that there’s always a God part and a human part for there to be a manifestation of what was prophesied or promised. This tells us that our actions play a significant role in determining the outcome we experience.

This series we are looking at lessons from the king’s court around 3 key areas: Access, Alignment and Authority trusting that the Lord will use it to guide us in the direction of what is right and equip us for every good work.

Welcome to 2026, a year filled with unlimited possibilities. We trust the Lord that it will be a blessed and fruitful one for us all 

It’s been said that the best way to predict the future is to create it. We know God’s plans for the year are good and we also know that the enemy has plans for us that are contrary to God’s plans. So that we don’t leave anything to chance, we’re kicking the year off with 10 declarations that will shape the year to our advantage. 

As we go through the series we encourage everyone to intentionally and consistently declare the anchor scriptures through the days to come. December is typically a period where we reflect on the previous months and anticipate the year to come. As we reflect most of us will have areas we’re trusting God for, but the extent to which we know someone is the extent to which we can trust or depend on them. 

Moses had a unique perspective with God compared to the other Israelites because while they saw the many acts God performed in Egypt and the wilderness, Moses knew God’s character which impacted how he functioned with God.

“I will lift up my eyes to the hills— From whence comes my help?” Psalms 121:1

Psalm 121 is described in the Bible as a song of ascents which can refer to the progression of musical notes played for the psalm or the journey pilgrims make as they head towards Jerusalem. It can also refer how the psalmist takes us on a progressive journey to a higher place of understanding who God is, how we seek God and how He responds to those who seek Him.

After Jesus had resurrected and appeared to several disciples He told them something very significant about what was to come: there was going to be an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Not only that, there would be clear evidence of His coming because the disciples would receive power. 

Every natural phenomenon is accompanied by evidence. When it rains no matter how lightly the ground will get wet. When there’s fire items closest to the flames will typically get burnt. When there’s an earthquake there will be shakings. In the same way when there’s an outpouring of the Holy Spirit thee is evidence. But what does that evidence look like and how will it enable us to be witnesses to Jesus?

“Ears to hear and eyes to see— both are gifts from the Lord.” Proverbs 20:12 

“And He said, “Go, and tell this people: ‘Keep on hearing, but do not understand; Keep on seeing, but do not perceive.’” Isaiah 6:9

Life is all about perspective, we will always respond to situations based on what and how we see and hear. The Bible tells us that not all eyes can see and not all ears can hear. This doesn’t speak to our natural eyes and ears but our capacity to see what God is showing us and hear what He’s saying by the power of the Holy Spirit.

“whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.” II Corinthians 4:4

Because the enemy understands the power of perception, he goes to great lengths to distort our vision and our hearing so we respond in error to whatever God is saying or doing. This series we are bringing clarity to critical areas that will help refocus our sight and refine our hearing so we perceive with accuracy and alignment with God’s agenda. Where we are today is largely a product of the decisions we have made (good or bad) over time. This means that the key catalyst for transformation in our lives isn’t a change of the date on the calendar but the decisions we make.

If we want the coming year to be different, we must be ready to do things differently.

Seems it was just a few days ago we were saying Happy New Year and making plans for the year. Now we’re in the last quarter of the year and for some of us it may look like very little of what we planned has materialised. It’s easy at this point for doubt, fear and hopelessness to start creeping in. But that’s just a tactic of the enemy to take our eyes off the faithfulness of God. 

So long as God is the author of the dream/vision/plan we can be confident He is committed to seeing it through. This series we’re looking at a few examples of how God has proven His faithfulness even in the midst of impossible circumstances. Our prayer is that as we go through this series the Lord will encourage us and help us shift our focus from what He’s yet to do as He reminds us of what He’s already done.
