‘And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— ‘ John 14:16
‘Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you.’ John 16:7
When Jesus concluded His earthly ministry, He promised to send us a Helper – The Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit’s assignment is important because it’s through His ministry that Jesus entrusted the continuity of His work to believers not because we have the capacity on our own, but through His help.
As the Holy Spirit’s help is so vital to our journey, then we must understand what He helps us with. Most times we think of Him in terms of helping us pray, but there is so much more to Him and His role in our lives.
